Why MetalOfoz you ask? Good Question. I created this site as a means of documenting my 2004 New Years resolution. My resolution was to attend as many metal gigs as humanly possible through out 2004 (and beyond) and document them. But the first hurdle was finding out gigs and then trying to find out about which were the best for me. So not to be greedy I posted all information on my site for other people to find. If you would like to help me on my quest all you have to do is post gig information to gigs@metalofoz.com with the gig name,bands playing,venue and time and date.

After I started to photograph all gigs that I went to in January I found it hard just to post them online with out creating a database for them. In the process I created venue,gig,band and photo database. This will allow me to track bands to see who has performed the most ,who supported most all the way through to the most traveled. call me a data freak but I love stats.

Not to be greedy, I opened up my services to hosting unsigned local metal acts from Australia and integrated them into the metalofoz network, This will allow them to cheat and use my database to promote theirs gigs in return.

What do I (metalofoz) want in return you ask? Well I ask for nothing but a good year in the metal scene. I believe that the genre needs a change of guard. A Change for the better. The change will be an online presence of Australian metal community. This community will change the crap that is currently being promoted by the top radio stations from music that they are being paid to play (Australian Idol comes to mind) to music made by hard working musician that actually do the hard yards in trying to get some where. We must all support our local acts and venues by spreading the word. We must all unite and make the top radio stations change their ways as they are the voice of the new genrations. Let us change their attutides and their ways and turn help Australian music scene... By doing this you will be helping me into trying to accomplish my goal of seeing the most metal this year !!!!!!!
